*Australian citizens living, or in transit overseas with these qualifications are the only acceptable authorized persons.
Receipt your Notice of Intended Marriage
- This is the day your completed and signed form is returned to me. I will endorse the notice and note the date on which it was received. Your form must be submitted to me at least one month and one day prior to your wedding day and it is valid for no more than 18 months from your wedding day.
- For overseas couples, you do not need to be in Australia to ‘lodge’ your Notice of Intended Marriage form. Once you have completed it and have had it witnessed as required, you can fax the forms to me and this will be classified as the ‘date of receipt’. Please remember, your faxed forms again must be received at least one month and one day prior to your wedding date and no more than 18 months from your wedding day.
As for your originals, you can either post them to me or bring them with you to Australia. When you arrive in Australia, you will need to bring all the original documentations with you - i.e. birth certificates, decree absolute, passport, death certificate, etc. whichever is relevant to your situation. As your celebrant, I MUST sight all original documents before your wedding day. I cannot conduct your marriage ceremony until I have sighted your original documents.
Fiance/Spouse Visa
If either of you are coming to Australia on a ‘Fiance’ or ‘Spouse’ Visa, I can provide you with the necessary letter for you to present to the Consulate or Immigration Department. You will need to meet with me so as a Notice of Intended Marriage can be completed and endorsed by myself.
Ideally the Notice should be signed by both parties at the time when notice is given. However where a party’s signature cannot be conveniently obtained at that time, the Notice may be accepted with only one signature. |

This just means that the other party will need to sign the Notice any time before the marriage is solemnised. |
